Happy Sunday, team. Here in Anchorage, the sun is shining, the night was cold, and I’m hopeful this means we’ll be crust skiing this week. I’m also working on two posts for next one week. One free, one paid, and both will include the option for you to listen to me read the post. I’m told people are into this. Not me, necessarily, but the option to listen to Substack posts is generally recommended for subscriber growth. And I enjoy reading aloud, so why the hell not.
Here’s a quick tongue-in-cheek bio if you doubt the audio skills: Matthew Komatsu is an expert out-loud reader [of children’s books]. While he’s recorded none of them, his Cubs promise his impression of Werner Herzog reading Curious George was aces, and his successful yearlong quest to read Lord of the Rings out loud was most impressive. When he’s not supine, head propped against a squishy mallow while he reads Berenstein Bears to Woman Cub, Matthew is an avid nordic skier and tenkara fly angler in Alaska.
Anyway, provided the mic I ordered arrives in time, and I can find an hour to hide in the closet with it without any children in the house, I’ll roll out the feature next weekend. Until, then, enjoy this completely unrelated and somewhat horrifying AI-generated graphic.
Looking forward to your audio.
